2015 Lotus Evora 400 now in Malaysia – Brand's most powerful production model to date

Lotus Cars Malaysia (Lotus) today took the wraps off the fastest road-going car it has ever produced – the Evora 400, which is now officially available in the Malaysian market.

A total of six variants will be offered here, with three being manual and three more being automatic:

  • Lotus Evora 400 Manual (Base) – RM597,999
  • Lotus Evora 400 Manual Option 1 – RM624,999
  • Lotus Evora 400 Manual Option 2 – RM640,999
  • Lotus Evora 400 Automatic (Base) – RM610,999
  • Lotus Evora 400 Automatic Option 1 – RM637,999
  • Lotus Evora 400 Automatic Option 2 – RM653,999

While the base variants (both automatic and manual) come with the brand’s signature paint, cruise control, and a choice of yellow or black brake calipers, Option 1 variants come with either Alcantara or leather interior trim, and the ‘Black Pack’.

In case you’re wondering what the Black Pack is, the roof, sills and centre section of the rear wing will be sporting gloss black finish and dark cabin headlining.

Option 2 variants on the other hand, are entitled to a set of gloss black, forged 10 spoke (19” front and 20” rear) alloy wheels on top of all the goodies that are offered in Option 1.

Being much faster and dynamically more capable than the previous Evora, the 400 is powered by a mid-mounted new supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine that kicks out 400hp and 410Nm of peak torque, enabling it to sprint from standstill to 100km/h in an impressive 4.2 seconds, and clock a top speed of 300km/h. Paired to the engine is either a six-speed manual, or a paddle-shifted six-speed automatic transmission.

Also new is the aluminium chassis which incorporates a fresh interior, and a lightweight composite body that has been changed significantly both at the front and rear. Thanks to these new light components, the car’s kerb weight has decreased by 42kg, which translates to all the impressive performance figures mentioned above.

Here to give the Porsche Cayman GT4 a run for its money, the Lotus Evora 400 comes with a limited slip differential, 370mm AP Racing composite two piece brake discs, cruise control, a new exhaust system, and also an altered ECU.

All ‘pumped-up’ about the model’s introduction here, Lotus Malaysia announced that it will be offering a promotion package which includes 3-years warranty, 2-years free service, and a one-time experience at the Lotus Driving Academy, as well as an automatic membership to the distinguished Lotus Official Club Malaysia (LOCM). Further to this promotion, it is said that the first 30 owners will be offered a special promotion price of RM595,999 for the base manual version.

Now, how is that for a deal?
